The country’s first bio-diesel plant on Thursday commenced its sale. The plant was set up at Samsthan Narayanpur in Nalgonda district with an installed capacity of 40,000 litres a day at a cost of Rs. 25.72 crore.
Managing Director of the company Satish Kumar said that the plant would be operated under the technical supervision of Germany-based M/s Lurgi AG, and its Indian partner M/s CCI. The plant would be handed over to SBT in two to three months. Reputed customers were already supplied bio-diesel.
He said that the APSRTC had called for tenders for the supply of 1,15,68,000 litres of bio-diesel per year. Similarly, Indian Railways also called for tenders seeking supply of 1.40 lakh litres of bio-diesel a year. The company participated in the tenders.
The company would set up another unit of three-lakh litres a day capacity in Visakhaptanam with Rs. 75 crore. |
