Banking and financial services major UBS AG has announced plans to invest US $ 65 million in India Service Centre (ISC) and in creation of a business continuity facility in Hyderabad.

Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated the full-fledged UBS India Service Centre campus here. UBS India Service Centre would compliment its existing hybrid off-shoring and outsourcing model for operations around the world, Mr. Standish said.

UBS ISC chief executive officer Vipul Khanna said most of the IT application development work of UBS was being handled by third party vendors. It was now proposed to take up strategic IT application development work at the Hyderabad centre. Rs. 25 cr disbursed since 1975 under 'aid to authors'

The Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams (TTD) under its ‘aid to authors’ scheme has disbursed Rs. 25 crore since 1975 to authors of various publications relating to spiritualism, ancient values, heritage, culture, fine arts and so on.

It may be recalled that the TTD had launched the scheme to not only encourage standard editions on these topics but also to provide succour to the authors who for want of financial support preferred to maintain a low profile in their field.

According to a TTD release, the Experts Committee headed by TTD Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachary and comprising leading scholars at its recent sitting to screen various publications, identified 44 manuscripts for publication under the scheme. A sum of Rs. 20,000 each would be provided to authors for selected manuscripts.

Of the scripts identified, 17 belonged to Telugu, nine to Kannada, seven to Tamil and three to Sanskrit. Besides, the TTD also voluntarily took up publication of eight other books. The TTD appealed to writers and authors to avail of the scheme and help it bring out publications to promote the cause of spiritualism and values in the society.
