“Music runs in our family”- they proudly say.  Hemachandra, his sister Hima Bindu and their cousin Karunya are bright singers. "But, 15 people in our family are into music - as composers, singers and even as a keyboard player. I learnt it from my mother," Hemachandra says.

With the requests from enthusiasts and from parents who wish to see their children zooming up with ‘sapta swara’, their family is all set to polish new talents.

 ‘Lakshmanachary Memorial College of Music’ is being started by Mrs. Sasikala Swamy, a renowned singer from Hyderabad. She is the mother of the celebrity singer Mr. Hemachandra, who has become internationally popular through ZeeTVs ‘Saregamapa’ program.

Smt. Sasikala has taught music to many students, the most successful of them being her own son, Mr. Hemachandra and daughter Ms. Himabindu. After Mr. Hemachandra has mentioned on the Zee Saregamapa program that his mother is his teacher, she started getting several requests from people all over the world to teach music to their children.

After giving a considerable thought, she has decided to start this college. Her aim is to teach music in her own unique style with several techniques that she has learnt over the 30 years of her experience in this field.

The college is located at 124, Anand Nagar colony, Jupiter play school premises, lane next to Dayanand School, Khairatabad. This music college will have classes in carnatic classical, light, devotional and film music. The classes will be held everyday from 5pm to 8pm.Interested persons may contact Smt.
