TRS MLA G. Mahipal Reddy, who was proved guilty for collecting Rs. 15 lakhs from an industrialist in Patancheru, convicted with two and half years jail term and levied Rs. 2, 500 fine. Judge Durga Prasad of the first class additional magistrate court of Sangareddy district pronounced the verdict on Thursday. However, Mahipal Reddy was given one month time for appealing in the district court. His case has been posted to January 6th.
A worker named Mahesh was died in an industry located near Patancheru in Medak district in May last year. MLA Mahipal Reddy and his followers rushed to the spot and demand the owner Chandu Kumar to pay compensation to the deceased family and he agreed for it. But, the MLA collected a cheque worth Rs. 15 lakhs from the owner by force. Following a complaint from him, police arrests the MLA and produced before the court. It was found MLA is guilty in this case and the court convicts him with jail term. Probably, TRS Chief KCR may take some serious action against him soon as it is tarnishing party reputation.
