Death toll rises to 8 in spurious liquor case

 

The death toll is gradually rising in spurious liquor case of Swarna Bar & Restaurant of M Hotel in Vijayawada. So far, eight people were died and equal number of people condition is reportedly very critical. Total 24 persons reportedly consumed this spurious liquor and all of them rushed to nearby government hospital.

 

Excise officials collected samples of the spurious liquor and seized the bar. AP Additional Director General of Police (Law and order) RP Thakur said “I came to know that two persons collapsed immediately in the bar after consuming the liquor, which is revealing the liquor supplied in the bar is spurious. Police are investigating the case. No one will be spared in this case.”

 

TDP, BJP and YSR Congress party leaders rushed to the spot after hearing this tragic news. AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that he will not spare whoever involved in this spurious liquor case. Jagan Mohan Reddy demands for judicial probe and compensation of Rs. 20 lakh to each victim’s family.

 

Former Congress party MLA Malladi Vishnu said that it is not his Bar as reported by a section of media. He admitted that it belongs to his relative. He said “I came to know that those who mixed mineral water in their drinks are found safe, but those used water from a water cooler in the bar reportedly affected. So, I suspect something poisonous was mixed in the water cooler. I have nothing to do with the bar. I demand for a thorough investigation and severe action against those involved in the heinous crime.”
