Seetaram Echuri concern for Sri Lankan Tamil people

For the first time, other than Tamil people voiced for the rights of Sri Lankan Tamil people. It is CPM Polit bureau member Seetaram Echuri. He writes a letter to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh appealing him to insist the Sri Lanka government to implement the Rajeev-Jayavardhane agreement that ensures the legal rights of the Tamilians. He also expressed concern for the Tamil people living in miserable condition there. He alerted that Sri Lanka government is abolishing its 13th amendment of the constitution that ensures safety and protection of the Tamil people. In his letter to PM, he asked to pressurize the Sri Lanka government to follow the guidelines given in the 13th amendment of its constitution, as it promised to international community earlier. Echuri asks the PM to concentrate and develop the bilateral relations with Sri Lanka, so as to ensure peaceful living for the Tamil people.
