Maoist attack toll goes to 15

The toll of those killed including CRPF personnel, policemen and a civilian has gone to 15 after the ghastly ambush by the Maoists in Chattisgarh. It was reported that around 300 of them laid the ambush and swarmed out of the forest, triggering land mines and firing indiscriminately at the helpless soldiers at around 11 AM in the Sukma district which is around 400 kms from Raipur. It is described as a clear lapse on the intelligence where no specific inputs about the Maoist movement were given to the soldiers. Time and again the Maoists have been attacking security personnel and whether the movement of the troops in the forest is being leaked to them also needs to be checked. The 2010 Dantewada incident where 76 troops were killed has been a reminder that the forests and terrain in Chattisgarh is not safe and leaving the troops in a very vulnerable state.
