KTR Warns Repeating of Million March Violence

Taraka Rama Rao warned the state and Union governments to “remember” Million March mayhem before denying permission to the party’s 10th anniversary public meeting proposed to be held in Hyderabad on April 27.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr Rama Rao said the party was awaiting a reply from the defence minister Mr A.K. Antony, for its request to hold meet at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. He said the party would conduct programmes to mark the decade struggle for Telangana.

The MLA warned the Congress MLAs and MPs not to backtrack on their pledge to resign en masse if the Centre did not announce Telangana state by June this year. Strongly criticising the Chapter 8 of Justice Srikrishna Committee report, Mr Taraka Rama Rao said it was prepared by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and DGP K. Aravinda Rao.
