Mysoora Reddy Takes on Jagan Mohan Reddy

Finally TD supremo Chandrababu Naidu convinced MV Mysoora Reddy to take on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Kadapa bypoll. Mr Naidu, who had earlier finalised the name of Mr Putta Krishna Chaitanya Reddy for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, was forced to change his mind and asked Mr Mysoora Reddy to be the party's candidate. This move by Naidu became necessary as Kandula Brothers have bluntly told Naidu's emissary Mr. Mysoora Reddy that they have decided to leave the party.
A reluctant Mr Mysoora Reddy finally agreed to contest but only after getting an assurance that the required finances would be met by the party. Mr Mysoora Reddy had quit the Congress in 2004 and had unsuccessfully contested against Mr Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy for the Kadapa Lok Sabha. He was later elected to Rajya Sabha in 2006. Since he is a veteran in both the Congress and the TD, it is expected that he will benefit from the split in the Congress votes.
