Six parties merged to work under Mulayam leadership

Six political parties- JD (U), RJD, INLD, JD(S) SP and SJP have merged into one party on Wednesday. They will work under the leadership of Samajwadi party president Mulayam Singh, who also merged his party into this alliance group.

JD (U) president Sharad Yadav, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, RJ(D) president Laloo Prasad Yadav were present in the joint press conference held at New Delhi, where they have announced the merger of six parties. A six-member committee comprising one each from six parties was formed today. HD Deve Gowda, Om Prakash Chautala, Sharad Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav, Kamal Morarka and Prasad are the members in this committee. They will finalize the party name, flag design and the constitution for their new political party.

Their merger ahead of Bihar Assembly elections slated for November this year comes as a big challenge to the BJP.

In fact, BJP has tried to set its foot in the Bihar state, when crisis erupts in the ruling JD (U). It prepared to support the former chief minister Jitan Ram Manji, when he was suspended by his own party and his MLAs deserted him to enable Nitish Kumar occupy his CM Chair. But, BJP drops its idea, therefore Jitan Ram resigned to his post in the last minute. So, BJP has to strive very hard to face and win over this new alliance group formed today.

However, their alliance makes no difference for the Congress party as it is gradually dying. Hence, it proposed them to join hands with it to face the BJP in the assembly elections. But, actually the leaders of this new alliance party have announced that they are joining hands to emerge as alternate political power and they would like to take upon the two national parties BJP and the Congress parties.
