Jallikattu: No Cases On Students

The Tamil Nadu government has announced to withdraw cases against students arrested during the protests on January 23 near the Marina in Chennai. “Cases against 36 students arrested for arson on the Marina protest will be withdrawn”, Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam told the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

A retired Judge will probe the arson and alleged police excesses and submit a report, he said. “Actions will be taken against Police personnel involved in arson during Jallikattu protest violence”, the Chief Minister said in an official tweet by the AIADMK.
