Chief Ministers of different states and opposition leaders have been invited to the National Integration Council meeting held at New Delhi, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Chandrababu Naidu, who was also invited to this meeting, walked out of it, when he was not allowed to speak about the prevailing situation in the state. Union Ministers P. Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde have told him that it is not in the agenda hence, he can’t speak on that particular subject. However, when he start speaking on same matter, his mike connection was disconnected. Hence, Chandrababu walked out of the meeting protesting the decision.
Later speaking to media, “I have tried to bring notice to the members of the meeting about the prevailing situation our state. But, I was not allowed for it. I feel humiliated with the Government’s attitude. They have no honor for Telugu people and their self-respect. However, the CM present in the meeting did not utter a word, when I was denied permission to talk about our state. But, Assam CM is allowed to talk about the problems of his state, because he and his government are related to Congress party. If, we couldn’t speak about the problems of our state, then what is the use of sitting in the meeting like a puppet? That is why I boycotts the meeting,” said Chandrababu.
