Proposals for rail connectivity to Amaravati under consideration

Andhra Pradesh state government has sent a proposal for laying a railway line between upcoming capital city Amaravati and Mangalagiri Railway Station, so as to provide direct rail connectivity to the capital city with rest of the state and the country. Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu is said to be formally agreed to this proposal. So, Railways’ officials may make a site visit very soon to study the scope for laying railway line. The state government is also made another proposal for running a circular train service between Amaravati, Vijayawada, Guntur and Tenali cities. Actually, the state government has planned to run metro rail services between these stations, but dropped that idea as Metro chief consultant E Sreedharan said that is not a viable. So, the state government proposes to a circular local train between these stations.
