What Went Wrong Between Chiru, Dasari?

on May 31, 2017

Legendary filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao and Megastar Chiranjeevi are two pillars of industry. While Dasari was the leading director in his heydays, Chiranjeevi ruled the industry as top star for decades. Dasari revealed several times that, he has egos when it comes to remuneration.

“I don't crave for money. But, I ask pay at least one rupee higher to my film's hero” said Dasari in few interviews and in media interactions. In fact, Dasari brought name and fame to direction and writing fields. He made strong impact not just on Telugu cinema, but on Indian cinema. However, the big question is what went wrong between Dasari and Chiru.

Lankeswarudu was the only film came in the combination of Chiranjeevi and Dasari Narayana Rao. Reports state that, both Chiru and Dasari blamed one the other on disaster result of the film. Though the both were top in their respective fields, they never teamed up again owing to ego clashes, says the reports.

Moreover, when Dasari invited Chiranjeevi to join Congress Party, when he was assigned the job by Delhi biggies, the megastar said no as he was not interested in politics then and when the latter had decided to join the politics he floated own political outfit 'Praja Rajyam' which was later merged with Congress.

Thankfully, Chiranjeevi and Dasari Narayana Rao put end to their rivalry and maintained healthy relationship from last few years. As we reported earlier, Allu Ramalingaiah Award for this year was given to Dasari and Chiranjeevi went to Dasari's house on May 4th to wish him on his birthday.
