Mobile Service providers-Idea and Airtel, Docomo and Vodaphone handed over call data records to Vijayawada magistrate court on Friday. Earlier, they submits call data records of 29 numbers and today another 25 phone numbers of the Andhra Pradesh government that were allegedly tapped by the Telangana government. Following the high court instructions, the details were returned to high court again in a sealed cover by a special messenger immediately.
Vijayawada magistrate court adjourned this case to September 11th. Although, this is proving that AP state government’s allegations are true, the high court’s restriction to go through the details of the sealed covers, leaves no scope to the Andhra Pradesh government to proceed ahead with this case and fix the Telangana government for tapping its phones. All the call-data details were now with the high court and it can’t be seen until it or the Supreme Court permits it. Hence, the AP government may have to approach the apex court to get access to the call data records for further proceedings in this case.
