Rahul Gandhi begins his new innings in politics with land acquisition issue. Today he met the farmers at his home came from northern parts of India. He takes their feedback on the amended version of the land acquisition bill before attending the Kheth-Kisan- Mazdur meeting to be held at New Delhi on Sunday. Congress party is conducting the meeting in protest against amending the land acquisition bill approved by the UPA government in the last year, which safeguards their ownership rights and ensures a reasonable compensation, in case the government takes their lands for any purposes.
Entire opposition parties have strongly opposed the NDA government amending the land acquisition bill, but it goes ahead with it by issuing an ordinance for it. Hence, it is a very strong weapon to attack the ruling NDA government, if utilized properly. The Congress party that is reportedly gearing to crown its prince Rahul Gandhi as its president very soon, seems grabs this opportunity to give him a perfect landing. But, it would be wise if he resolve the internal problems with his senior leaders before taking upon mighty Narendra Modi and his government.
