Jayalalitha likely to take oath as TN CM on 17

Soon after, the Karnataka High Court declares Jayalalitha as innocent in the disproportionate assets case and dismissed the special court orders today, leaders of her party start arriving to her Poyace Gardens residence to greet her. Her AIADMK party leaders and workers all over the state are grandly celebrating the occasion. Tamilnadu Chief Minister O. Panneer Salwam has offered to quit his CM Post and requested her to take charge of the state. According to latest reports, she is likely to take oath as Chief Minister of the state on May 17th. The ruling AIADMK party is likely to make an official announcement about this anytime.

The Karnataka High Court verdict has left the main opposition party DMK in deep shock as it is dreaming to clinch power from the ruling AIADMK party in the assembly elections scheduled for next year. DMK President Karunanidhi has declared his son Stalin as his successor, thus to put an end to dilemma over about his successor. He hopes that his son Stalin will drive the party to success in the next assembly elections in the absence of Jayalalitha. Hence, Karunanidhi fumes upon the prosecution for dissolving her case in the Karnataka High Court.

Subrahmanya Swamy, who actually initiated this case 18 years ago, is also very much upset with the court verdict. He said that he will challenge the High Court’s decision in the Supreme Court and ensure that Jayalalitha is punished. So, it is to be assumed that still a sword is hanging on Jayalalitha’s head.
