Senior director Rakesh Roshan said that Bollywood films are failing because they are making films according to the tastes of a few audience. He stated that the mass audience is unable to connect with Hindi stories at all. He recently turned 73. On this occasion, he expressed his views on contemporary Bollywood trends.
He analyzed that the decline in popular songs is also a reason for the failure of Bollywood movies. He said that all the songs in the films 'Pushpa' and 'RRR' which came from South became popular and the songs played an important role in reaching the masses. 'Bollywood directors are focusing more on modern stories.
Such stories appeal only to one percent of the society. In order to please the majority of the audience, you have to choose stories that satisfy their interests. It is the reason for the success of South movies.
Rakesh Roshan said, "They are coming forward with stories that tell the roots of our culture and history while targeting the masses." He also opined that the trend of promoting in different cities across the country will not bring much benefit to the producers except financial loss.
