Ponniyin Selvan is a big-budget film directed by Mani Ratnam, a legendary filmmaker in Indian cinema. While the film's teaser and Ponni Nadhi song were well appreciated by fans, the audio launch ceremony and trailer launch of the first part of Ponniyin Selvan were conducted at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

This event was attended by Superstar Rajinikanth, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, and other leading film stars, as well as the brilliant director Shankar. Shankar gave an update on Indian 2 and delighted the fans during his speech at the event.

Shankar stated at the event that the current schedule of Indian 2 was done as of yesterday. The new schedule will begin in the third week of September. In that schedule, Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal are likely to join the sets.

The first Pan India director was Mani Ratnam. With Dilse (Uyire), Bombay, he became a Pan India director. He stated that we will easily go to the Pan India film in the way he showed.
