Chana Rice

 

 

Ingredients :

1 Cup Chole / chick peas (soaked over night)
1 Cup rice (Soaked for on hour)
1/2 Cup Curd
3 spns oil/ ghee
1 spn Garam masala
1 spn Chole Masala
3 Green chilles
Full spices
3 Cardamoms
2 1spn Zeera
1 Bay leaf
1 spn saunf/ Aniseeds
Coriander leaves for garnishing

 

Method:

Take a thick bottom vessel put oil / ghee. Once oil heats up add full spices. Then add onions . Fry them a little bit. And add ginger garlic paste. Then one after the other add garam masala ,chenna masala, and green chilies. Keep frying till onions are golden brown. Then add chenna and later on add curd. Let the chenna cook a bit in these masalas. Then add soaked rice and salt and add water in 1 is to 2 ratio. Once  the water starts boiling simmer the flame and cook the rice till done. Keeping it on low flam all through while cooking will allow the chenna and rice cook properly and deeply in the masala’s . Once done  garnish with coriander and enjoy with plain curd or raita.
