The Telugu Association of Malaysia (TAM) has invited the Chief Minister Dr.K.Rosaiah to participate in the celebrations of 150 years of Malaysian Telugu Heritage on October 8, 2010 to be held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Malaysia. H.E., YAB. Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, will be the Guest of Honour and will officiate the event.
The President of TAM, Dr.Achaiah Kumar Rao today called on the Chief Minister and extended the invitation. He thanked the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its continuous support and cooperation being extended over the years. Responding to the invitation of the TAM, the Chief Minister assured its President that he will try his best to participate in the celebrations and thanked the Malaysian Prime Minister for the gesture. In conjunction with the official landing of Telugu community in Malaysia 150 years ago, TAM is organizing Malaysian Telugu unity gathering to celebrate the event on 8th October.
TAM is a non profit and non governmental organization representing about 5,00,000 Telugus in Malaysia formed with an objective to promote and safeguard Telugu culture, language, heritage and take care of social and welfare needs of the community.
