TAGC Women's Day celebrations
TAGC was overwhelmed by the success of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration held on March 3rd, 2016 at Garden Terrace Banquets, 1000 Wellington Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. The solidarity was evident as more than 250 women from the greater Chicago area joined to a packed house to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements made by women. The event focused on wellness, education, social responsibility and several fun filled events.
The benefits of breathing exercises in handling the stress as explained by Smt. Vidya Nahar have been very useful and educational in providing the valuable insight on how women can handle the stress and improve the quality of life. The discussion with Dr. Dan Waxman stressed the necessity of blood donation being treated as one of the social responsibilities as she shared information that debunked the myths about blood donation and brought much needed awareness about the blood donation to the group. The discussion by Kristin Moo emphasized the relevance of social media and how to protect one’s privacy was an eye opener for all the members that attended the discussion. TAGC Women’s forum has collected record high donations from our generous women members towards the Greater Chicago food depository and Children’s Memorial hospital.
Several fun filled activities were meticulously planned and executed to create festive atmosphere in the event that were thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. The winners from the activities were awarded gift vouchers from vynam.com. The members enjoyed the sumptuous snacks and dinner sponsored by the renowned restaurant, Masala, Naperville. TAGC president Pradeep Kandimalla, thanks the following volunteers for planning and executing the event to grand success and special thanks to TAGC Women’s Forum Chair Sujatha Katta for running the show so successfully with the help of core team Vandana Reddy and Mamata Lankala.
