TRS idea backfires

TRS is quite happy with survey reports that are predicting its victory in the elections. However, it is worried to know it can’t get absolute majority on its own and need some external support to form the government. So, TRS leaders are negotiating with MIM and CPI and other independents, who have winning chances. However, T-Congress leaders’ fight for Chief Minister Post is also giving sleepless nights to TRS Chief KCR.
He fears that if they indulge in horse trading and clinches some of his MLAs or MIM from him, it will betray his chances to become first CM of the state. He fears that the two week gap after announcing the elections results on May 16th and the appointed Day-June 2nd is enough for T-Congress leaders to attract TRS, MIM and others towards it. So, he believes that this two week gap may be suicidal for his party future.
Hence, TRS leader Jagadish Reddy has filed a petition in High Court appealing to order the government to bring forward the appointed Day from June 2nd to May 17th the next day results declared. He argued that, the two week gap between results and appointed Day may lead to constitutional crisis.
However, High Court refused to intervene in this issue and suggested TRS to approach Centre for the same. It is evident that Congress high command, which has intentionally created that gap only to enable itself indulge in horse trading, will not agree to forward it.
