After coming out from the meeting, Mr. Naidu spoke to the media at length and narrated the sad story of AP farmers.

Chandrababu Naidu told that for the past three months the paddy agriculturists have been struggling to sell off their produce, but they couldn't find buyers. Even if anyone purchased the paddy, it was purchased at very low price than the prescribed Minimum Support Price (MSP). Naidu claimed that less than 2% of the total Rabi produce only was bought by the governmental agencies across the state. He blamed the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for the sorry state of the farmers in the state and termed him as 'inexperienced'. Mr. Naidu said that the chief minister is incapable of handling the crisis and has no commitment towards cause of the farmers.

Further Mr. Naidu went on to say that, farmers had invested more than usual this year in growing their crops and that the delay in the procurement of the paddy was causing them further distress. He reportedly appealed to the Union Agriculture Minister to take the necessary measures to clear the existing paddy stocks from procurement centres, and to ensure that the farmers get the MSP for their produce.
