IIT-JEE Results to be Released Today

HYDERABAD: The results of the Indian Institutes of Technology - Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) 2011 will be declared on Wednesday. They are likely to be made accessible by 8 a.m.

 

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the release of the results, but it was turned down paving way for the release on Wednesday as decided earlier. The IIT-Kanpur, the nodal agency of IITs that conducted the examination this year, has already announced that all students who appeared for the test will be given full marks for the two questions that had errors in the Mathematics paper.

 

The test was held at 1,051 centres in the country and about four lakh students appeared for it. About 50,000 candidates from the State tried their luck this year for the 9,816 seats available in 15 IITs apart from BHU, Varanasi, and ISM, Dhanbad. This year 115 additional seats are available with the IIT Hyderabad introducing Chemical Engineering branch and the Rajasthan IIT starting a new branch called Systems Science
