SC rejects stay on bifurcation petitions

Supreme Court has refused to intervene or to grant a stay order on bifurcation issue. The apex court responding to the 24 petitions filed by some persons, including former CM of the state N. Kiran Kumar Reddy opposing division of the state, has refused to grant stay order on (the appointed day of June 2nd) formation of Telangana as 29th state of India. However, the apex bench has once again served notice to Union Government asking it to submit its explanation for the objections being raised by petitioners. The court adjourned the case till august 20th.
So, it is to be understood that case is shelved forever, because by then Telangana state will become reality and it can’t be reversed. Hence, this would be a blow for Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is assuring the people of Seemandhra that he will fight to keep the state united. Obviously, it is going to adversely affect his JSP’s electoral chances, which are very remote.
