Sakala Janula Samme: Govt Action Against Striking Employees

In view of the ongoing Sakala Janula Samme gaining momentum, chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy convened a meeting of the cabinet sub-committee at Secretariat on Monday. In the meeting, it was decided to take stringent action against the striking employees.

The chief minister appointed two task force teams to oversee non-stop supply of power, transport services and essential commodities. He also issued instructions to the GAD and Finance departments to cut salaries of the striking employees as per the GO 177 in force. The cabinet sub-committee felt that additional forces are required to maintain law & order situation in the region in wake of the general strike. Accordingly, it was decided to request the Centre for deployment of additional forces.
