People of AP state are witnessing political parties in the state are crossing swords over state capital issue, even after state government has taken a final decision on this issue two days ago. It can be justified people of Rayalaseema are protesting government decision, but not the political parties, because there is large difference on their concepts.
Rayalaseema people are demanding the state government to build the capital at Kurnool. They start protesting when the government ignores their pleas. Hence, their anguish and protests can be justified. But, the two main opposition parties Congress and YSR Congress parties, which do not want to spell their stand on this issue, are blaming state government for not consulting them and for not conducting a debate on this issue. Their demand for a debate on the issue can be justified if they would have spells their stand, but not when they want to gain some political mileage out of it.
YCP obstructs the house proceedings demanding a debate on this issue but later welcomed the state government’s decision. It is interesting to know that it gave a bandh call at Kurnool, while their leader is welcoming state government’s decision to build the state capital at Vijayawada. People of the state would appreciate ruling and opposition parties if they both collectively put pressure on the Centre for early release of funds for constructing the state capital and for other promises made in the AP Reorganization Bill-2014, instead of quarrelling with other to gain political mileage out of this issue.
