Dokka likely to join TDP on Sunday

Former minister and senior Congress leader Dokka Manikya Varaprasad has prepared to join YSR Congress party recently, but dropped the idea in the last minute following an advice from his political mentor TDP MP Rayapati Sambhasiva Rao. Rayapati is reportedly convinced Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to admit Dokka into the party.

Hence, he is likely to join TDP in the presence of Rayapati and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday at Vijayawada. TDP cadres from Guntur district are also reportedly welcoming him into the party as he always maintained good relations with them during his stay in Congress party. His departure would leave another blow on the beleaguered Congress party that is struggling for its existence in the state. He would be the second person leaving the Congress party after Botsa Satyanarayana.
