Suspense is still continuing on swearing in of Congress MLC Venkataram Reddi. Complying with the judgement of AP High Court, Venkatram Reddy reached the Legislative Council on Saturday to take oath of office as MLC.
At present TDP's Narasa Reddy is representing Nizamabad local bodies constitution in the Council. Venkatram Reddy had filed a case in the high court contending that Narasa Reddy's election was not proper and sought recounting of votes. The court conducted recounting twice and finally declared Venkatram Reddy as victorious by 9 votes.
Since chairman of Legislative Council was not available at the time Venkatram Reddy reached there and he could not take the oath. Though congressmen insisted that in absemce of the chairman, deputy chairman can administer the oath, but the Council officials were not able to take any decision. As of now it is not clear, when Venkatram Reddy will be sworn-in as MLC.
