Ambati Rambabu gets CBI notices

The Central Bureau of Investigation has served notices to YSR Congress leader and former APIIC chairman Ambati Rambabu in the Emaar scam case, and has asked him to appear before it by January 8. Mr Rambabu was chairman of the APIIC from 2005 to 2007. The Central Bureau of Investigation has already arrested businessman Koneru Prasad in the Emaar-APIIC case.
Mr Rambabu said he hasn’t received the notice yet, “but a CBI official from Hyderabad called me up and told me that I have to appear before them. I told them I am available in Hyderabad from January 7 onwards.” Mr Rambabu is likely to appear before the CBI on January 7 around 10 am at Dilkusha Guest House. He said, “I believe the CBI enquiry is politically motivated. The two decisions during my regime —the decrease in APIIC’s share and inclusion of Emaar MGF — were not brought to the notice of the board.” The CBI is likely to question Mr Rambabu about how IAS official B.P. Acharya didn’t bring the two decisions to its notice.
