Suspended Umesh Kumar IPS Appears in Court

A non-bailable warrant was pending against him. He remained untraced for the past four days and appeared today in the court.

The court has since recalled the arrest warrant pending against Umesh Kumar on presentation of Rs. 10,000/- personal guarantee. It is well known that Umesh Kumar IPS, who has been working as Addl. DGP has allegedly conspired with one Sunil Reddy and fabricated a letter purported to be written by a Rajya sabha member to the state government levelling serious corruption charges against the present DGP V Dinesh Reddy. Later, Umesh Kumar was transferred to Godawari Valley Development Authority as chairman. In view of the arrest warrant pending against him, the chief secretary of AP Pankaj Dwivedi has suspended him from services yesterday.
