1,482 crores for modi's foreign visits..!!

Our beloved prime minister loves flying to overseas. The fact that he has spent 12 percent of his tenure on foreign trips would support the fact. A reply to the question in Rajya Sabha has presented several interesting facts regarding his foreign tours. It’s revealed that he has visited 84 nations in this world! This is almost half of the number of countries in the world (195). These visits have cost just 1,482 crores to the nation. Mind you... these expenses didn’t include accommodation and other expenses. In contrast our previous Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has incurred just 642 crores in nine years of his tenure.

The citizens of India might be left with red face with these statistics but the Indian government has an explanation for it. Ministry of External Affairs General V. K. Singh clarified that "the objective of PM’s visits abroad has been to enhance mutual understanding and to strengthen our relations with these countries across a wide range of sectors including trade, investment, technology, development partnership and to enhance people-to-people ties".
