CAG reports 94 percent funds not utilized

The Andhra Pradesh government has submitted the CAG report to the Assembly today, which raps the previous government for misuse or not utilizing the funds allocated to several departments. According to the report, finance department has spent only 56 percent funds, ITDA spent only 51 percent funds. Only 36 percent funds were spent under SC ST sub plan. In general, 94 percent of funds were not utilized by the state government departments.

It reports that the primary health care centers, medical colleges and affiliated hospitals are also not maintaining prescribed standards. There are many posts need to filled in the medical and paramedical departments. There is no progress in any irrigation projects and roads construction works in the state. State government has lost Rs.665 crores due to faulty agreements made with the private companies under PPP mode. The state government also has lost Rs.460 crores revenue due to faulty laws in the motor transport taxation.

Congress party claims that it has excellently ruled the state, but all these things reported by CAG reveals the other side of the Congress ruling. The huge losses occurred to the state government due to faulty PPP agreements is underlining the corrupt practices of the previous Congress governments. However, no one was made accountable instead they were projected as heroes or saviors of the state.

The Congress and the YSR Congress party both claims that late YS Rajashekhar Reddy has started Jalayajnam projects to help the farmers. But, the CAG reports reveal that there is no progress in any of the projects started by him. Since, the Congress and the YSR Congress parties are claiming credit for the Jalayajnam projects they should also accept the failures and corruption involved in the projects.
