BJP gives shock to Congress in Bengaluru

BJP that ruled Karantaka state for nearly two decades has lost it to Congress party in the Assembly elections held in year 2013. But, now it once again clinched Bengaluru Municipal Corporation in the recently held elections from Congress hands by winning 100 out of 197 seats. The ruling Congress party has settled with just 75 seats, while the JDS got 14 and independents 8 seats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the people of Bengaluru for letting his party achieve hat trick in the municipal elections after winning in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan. He said various development and welfare activities initiated by his government are helping his party to win the elections. BJP makes clean sweep in Madhya Pradesh and won majority seats in Rajasthan and now in Karnataka also. The state BJP leaders describe this victory as referendum on Chief Minister Siddha Ramaiah’s poor performance.
