February 14th which happens to be Valentines Day, is a very special day for love birds. While the persons who are already in love try to spend good time with their partners, men or women who are deeply in love with someone would opt this date to express their love.
Love usually blossoms between two like-minded people. While few take their romantic relationship to next level, others end their love-story for various reasons. Love is a beautiful feeling and one needs to experience it to get the real ecstasy of being in love.
Coming to Tollywood, few actors had gone for a love marriage and are leading a fairy tale lifestyle. Here is the list of Tollywood successful love stories on the special eve of Valentines Day:
1. Nagarjuna-Amala:
They first met on the sets of Kirayi Dada and fell for each other. They got married in the year 1992 (June 11th) with blessings of both the family members. Prema Yuddam, Chinababu, Siva and Nirnayam were the other films they acted together. After marrying Nagarjuna, Amala quit films, though acted in couple of times in recent times.
2. Rajashekar-Jeevitha:
Rajasekhar was one of the top stars in late 80’s and early 90’s. Jeevitha was part of few of his super hits. Initially, Jeevitha had proposed her love to Rajasekhar and they got married on after seeing each other for three years. Aahuthi, Station Master, Ankusham and Bava Marudulu Saval were the films they acted together.
3. Srikanth-Ooha:
Srikanth and Ooha faced many odds to get acceptance from their parents for wedding. They acted together in couple of films such as Aame and Ayanagaru. While they first met on Aame sets in 1994, their wedding took place on January 20th in 1997. Ayanagaru released almost a year after their marriage.
4. Mahesh Babu-Namrata Shirodkar:
Love blossomed between them on the sets of their film Vamshi. They secretly dated for almost five years. When their parents disagreed, they got married in a private ceremony on 10th February 2005. While Mahesh Babu is one of the top stars in Tollywood, Namrata is backing him by taking care of family. Additionally, Namrata is looking after the production house ‘G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment Pvt. Ltd’.
5. Allu Arjun-Sneha:
Sneha is not connected to the film industry in any way. Allu Arjun met her in a common friend’s marriage and the two began to like each other. Their bonding strengthened over a period of time and they got married by convincing their parents. The wedding took place on 6th March, 2011. Whenever Allu Arjun gets free time, he likes to spend with his family. He takes break after wrapping up all works of his films, only to take them to foreign trip.
6. Ram Charan-Upasana:
Ram Charan and Upasana were friends since childhood. They were in relationship for almost 5 years, before entering into wedlock on June 14, 2012 with acceptance from both the families. Upasana, granddaughter of Dr Pratap C Reddy, Chairman and Co-founder of Apollo Hospital, has no connection with films. The two are leading happy life, enjoying each other’s company.
7. Lakshmi Manchu-Anand Srinivasan:
Lakshmi Manchu met Anand Srinivasan accidentally. When she was on the way to shopping for a close friend’s wedding in Chennai, she had to pick a friend’s friend in his house. He happened to be Anand with whom Lakshmi was in relationship for seven years. Initially, Lakshmi wasn’t interested in marriage business, but with request from Andry who worried about society, she had given her nod. The couple tied the nuptial knot in 4th August 2004. Though Andy is needed to be in USA to look after his business and Lakshmi is staying in Hyderabad to oversee film production, they managed to keep their relationship strong.
8. Nani-Anjana Yelavarthy:
Nani is one of the successful young heroes in Tollywood right now. He has good following in females and he had got countless love and marriage proposals. But, this guy fell flat for Anjana Yelavarthy. She happens to be a regular caller for Nani's radio show 'Non Stop Nani' on Worldspace radio, where he used to work as a Radio Jockey. Later, they turned into phone friends and then lovers. They successfully kept their love a secretive affair for five years and they finally got married on 27 October 2012.
9. Naga Chaitanya-Samantha:
Young hero Naga Chaitanya and actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu first met on the sets of Gautham Menon directed film ‘Ye Maya Chesave’. Love blossomed between the two and later they acted together in films like Autonagar Surya and Manam. Sam played a cameo in Chaitu’s super hit Premam. Both maintained secrecy about their love affair, until Sam revealed it to media in last year. In fact, Nagarjuna didn’t know about their love when they were working together for Manam. Chaitu and Sam’s engagement took place recently and they are about to enter wedlock sometime this year.
10. Akkineni Akhil-Shriya Bhupal:
Akkineni Akhil and Shriya Bhupal are family friends. Like his brother, Akhil too maintained secrecy over his romantic relationship with Shriya, Hyderabad based fashion designer and is granddaughter of business tycoon GVK Reddy. She is the costume designer for Filmfare South and she has worked with popular actresses like Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Kajal Agarwal and Rakul Preet. Akhil’s engagement with Shriya took place later in 2016 and the young couple will get married in summer 2017.
