Telugu Hit Films: 2017 First Half

Tollywood started off this year grandly with three super hits for Sankranthi. Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150, Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni, Sharwanand’s Shatamanam Bhavati which released during the festival turned out as blockbusters. Nani’s Nenu Local, Venkatesh’s Guru, Naga Chaitanya’s Rarandoi Veduka Chudham which released in 2017 first half ended as super hits. However, Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 is the biggest blockbuster.
1. Khaidi No 150:

The film marks comeback for megastar Chiranjeevi. Though it was remake of Tamil film Kaththi and had got mixed response post release, the movie smashed many box office records to become one of the all-time highest grossers:
2. Gautamiputra Satakarni:
Balakrishna and director Krish made the impossible possible by wrapping up GPSK in just 100 working days. Their efforts and hard work were paid off as the movie succeeded to becoming a commercial hit.
3. Shatamanam Bhavati:

Expectations were very low on the film and it was released amidst tough competition for Sankranthi. To everyone’s surprise the film collections augmented swiftly with positive talk. The Satish Vegeshna directed film minted Rs 50 crores at box office. Unbelievable performance it was!
4. Nenu Local:
Nani starrer Nenu Local was opened to divide talk. However, the movie picked up slowly and went on to become a super hit. Nani mark entertainment, enchanting music, Prasanna Kumar's one-liners and Trinadha Rao Nakkina's making were major highlights of the film.

The Venkatesh and Ritika Singh starrer film is official remake of Hindi movie Saala Khadoos which was an average grosser there. Director Sudha Kongara made few alteration to the script which worked like magic for the movie impressing cine lovers.
6. Baahubali 2:

Rajamouli and other film unit were in nervous before release of the film, as first part of Baahubali series was a run away hit in all the languages and expectations were sky high on part 2. Baahubali 2 reached all the expectations and re-created history in terms of collections. The Prabhas and Rana starrer film raked around 1800 crores worldwide. It is soon to debut in China market.
7. Rarandoi Veduka Chudham:
Naga Chaitanta's previous film Premam and director Kalyan Krishna's earlier film Soggade Chinni Nayana were super hits. Thus, automatically, prospects were quite high on RVC. The Rakul Preet Singh co-starrer film received mixed talk. Nonetheless, the movie had good run at box office.
Stylish Star Allu Arjun's Duvvada Jagannadham is also having great run at box office, despite getting unenthusiastic response from critics.
