After “Temple”, director Puri Jagannadh does not have any notable hits. On the other hand, Ram does not have any hits after the movie “Nenu Sailaja”. So both Puri Jagannadh & Ram are looking for a hit with the movie Ismart Shankar. How is the movie? Lets read the review.
Story: Sitar Shankar (Ram) is a rowdy settled in Hyderabad. He kills a politician names Kasi & then the police start their chase for Shakar. Shankar escapes with his girlfriend (Nabha Natesh). Meanwhile a police’s memory is transplanted to Shankar. Why is that done? What is the link between Shankar & the police? How does Shankar become Ismart Shankar? Answer to all this questions forms the movie Ismart Shankar.
Analysis: Inspired by the Hollywood’s criminal, Puri Jagannadh has taken the concept of brain transplantation & written the movie Ismart Shankar. So is the movie copied from Hollywood? Well the movie does not have anything new. This is purely a commercial film by Puri. Leaving the brain transplant concept aside, Puri has as-usual concentrated on the heroines. Music by Mani Sharma is very good.
Plus Points:
Ram Dance, Energy
Nabha, Nidhi Beauty
Mani Sharma Music & background music
Minus Points:
Puri Direction
Routine scenes
Ram’s Telangana accent
Performances: After a long time Ram has done this mass character. He has done it with energy. His Telangana accent is bad. His dance is just too good. Another set of people will watch the movie more than once just to see the heroine’s beauty. All the others have done their part well.
TeluguOne Perspective:
Whatever may be the concept & whatever may be the story, may be Puri’s mark will not change. This is just a routine commercial cinema which can be enjoyed by only one set of people.
