Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma's close friend Anurag Kashyap will be making biopic of Indian legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. Actually, Anurag Kashyap is not directing the film, but producing it, while Bollywood star director Kabir Khan who made several hits such as Kabul Express, New York, Ek Tha Tiger, Bhajrangi Bhaijaan etc.

One among Bollywood young heroes Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will portray Kapil Dev in the legends biopic film. As per reports, Ranveer has high chances to star in the film due to his success rate and fame. It is also heard that, the film will set in 1983 World Cup backdrop. However, makers of the film are yet to make an official confirmation on this.

It may be mentioned here that, Vishnu Induri who initiated Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) had planned to make a film on India winning '1983 World Cup'. Nonetheless, there is no development regarding the project yet.
