Updated : Jun 5, 2026

Fresh reports surrounding CM Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan have created buzz in trade circles after claims surfaced that the actor-turned-politician suggested his producer to return amounts to TN distributors. Going into the reports, Vijay is believed to have advised producer Venkata Narayana, aka, KVN to return advances already collected from distributors and avoid locking business too early.

The reported move is said to be aimed at reducing pressure around release uncertainty and allowing the film to be sold again under better conditions closer to release. As the distributors have been facing huge financial issues since six months, Vijay suggested the producer to return all the amounts and they can talk about settlement, differently.

After receiving his advice, KVN Productions team have started internal discussions about minimising the financial difficulties for them as well due to the continued delays in receiving Censor certificate. As there is no confirmation about release of the film, they are unable to end the deadlock hence, such measures.

However, there has been no official confirmation from Vijay or the production house regarding these claims. As of now, the reports remain industry speculation and neither side has publicly commented on the matter. Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj and Bobby Deol have been cast in this H. Vinoth directorial.
