Two-headed Snakes Are in Demand: One Caught in Vijayawada

The Vijayawada Police have took into custody a tea-stall owner and his accomplish along with a two-headed snake in their possession. The arrested persons were trying to sell sperm of the two-headed snake, as it is believed that it fetches a very good price in the international market.
The Indian Red Sand Boa, which is being called as 'Rendu talala Paamu' in local parlance, fetches a price of Rs 3-3.5 lakh in the local market. But the price touches Rs 1 crore when it is sold in the international market, the sources said. The snakes are exported to Dubai, China and Japan as it is belived that its sperm is used in medicines that increase sexual prowess in men.
According to sources, as per the Chinese vaastu or Feng Shui also, there has been a belief that riches would come to households where this snake would live. Hence the double headed snakes have acquired a lot of demand in the recent past.
