The Cabinet Sub-committee today met under the chairmanship of chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to review the situation in the wake of general strike notice given by Telangana employees union.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, ministers Danam Nagender and Mukesh Goud appealed to the Telangana employees to reconsider their decision over general strike beginning from tomorrow and attend to their duties. Danam Nagender said that the Centre had already initiated talks on Telangana issue and assured the employees that the government was ready to hold talks with the employees on any of their problems.
The government would be constrained to consider the option of invoking GO 177 in case of employees went on strike on the issue not under its purview, as per the directions of the High Court, they said. The government would make alternative arrangments in case of employees went on strike, they said and added that the government was sympathetic towards the employees.
