First verdict in Nirbhaya case announced

 

The Juvenile Justice Board is first to deliver verdict in the December 16th Nirbhaya case. The board has found the juvenile guilt in rape and murder case of the 23 year old medico and also for robbing a carpenter Ramdhar, just before he assaulted the medico.The Juvenile board presided by Principle Magistrate Geetanjalli Goel has given him 3 years jail term, which is a maximum punishment that can be awarded under juvenile act. 

 

While his mother condemns the verdict, the brother of Nirbhaya, who opined the punishment is not enough said he will appeal in the court. Cases against rest of the culprits involved in this gruesome act are still continuing even after a year.
