Krishna Mohan Reddy of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday directed the public prosecutor to submit the statements of witness and also specify the role of the each accused in the attack on the MIM MLA, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, to the court by Wednesday.

The judge was dealing with the bail petitions of Younus Bin Omer Yafai, alias Younus alias Mohammed Pahelwan, Mohd. Bahadur Ali Khan, Saif Bin Hussain Yafai, and Mohammed Ameeruddin alias Amer accused in the attack on Mr Akbaruddin. The counsels appearing for Mr Mohammed Pahelwan and Mr Bahadur contended that their clients are innocent and they have falsely implicated in the case on account of enmity. They said that even according to the prosecution, both the accused were not present at the time of incident.

Mr. Vinodkumar Deshpande, public prosecutor, opposing the bail said that Mr Mohammed Pahelwan is the key conspirator in the attack, and it was a preplanned attack on an elected representative, and it cannot be treated as a simple case of attempt to murder. He said that the victim is still undergoing the treatment in a hospital and he has to undergo another major operation and his condition is still not out of danger. Releasing the accused at this stage will hamper the evidence and the investigation of the case, he added. The judge posted the matter to Thursday.
