AP government issued cheques to Nelapadu farmers

 

The AP government has started making agreements with the farmers of Thullur mandal today for transferring their ownership rights to the state government. The government also has issued cheques to the 104 farmers of Nelapadu village, who are first to offer their lands for constructing the capital city. CRDA CEO Srikanth handed over the cheques to the farmers. Joint Collector Sridhar and some revenue officials were also present in this process.

 

Srikanth has appreciated and thanked the farmers for voluntarily coming forward offering their lands to the government. He assured them government will ensure they get full benefit from these land transfer deal. So far, the state government has received consent letters from the farmers handing over 32, 000 acres of land. However, farmers of Undavalli, Bethapudi and few other villages are still not willing to handover their lands to the state government. Hence, the officials are trying to pursue the farmers.
