Are you a “Social Butterfly” – Then you might have used these 5 emojis for sure!

It is a known fact that most of us communicate with our near and dear ones via social network. And this communication generally includes a lot of smiles known as “emojis”. In total there are 2,666 emojis in the Unicode Standard as of June 2017. The first emoji was created in 1999 in Japan by Shigetaka Kurita. These emojis have become so common in our lives that we have dedicated a special day for them. Well after having read that “World Emoji Day” is celebrated on 17th July every year - I was very curious to know how many and which emojis are used every day on an average.

Facebook – to which each one of us are addicted says that more than 60 million emojis are used on Facebook each day while more than 5 billion emojis are used via messenger.

Whether we want to convey that we’re extremely excited or really sad about something, we somehow find it easier to use an emoticon that describes the way we feel instead of trying to find the words to express it. Happy face emoji account for about 44 percent of all that are used, followed by sad faces at 14 percent, hearts at 13 percent, hand gestures at 5 percent, and the rest at very small percentages. Agree? Then let’s have a look at the 5 emojis which we all use often.
