Mega Prince Varun Tej's maiden Pan-Indian film Matka under the direction of Karuna Kumar of Palasa fame is produced by Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments, in association with Rajani Thalluri's SRT Entertainments. The movie is mounted on a large canvas with a high budget and top-notch technical standards.

The new schedule of Matka begins from 19th June. Currently, a massive set is being built in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad to bring this mass-action entertainer to life. Varun Tej is playing one of the most challenging characters in the movie where he will be seen in 4 different get-ups, as the story based on a real incident that shook the entire nation is set in different timelines. A teaser called Opening Bracket was revealed for Varun Tej's birthday and it received a tremendous response. The clip showed the premise of the movie and also introduced a few important characters such as Naveen Chandra P Ravi Shankar, etc.

A Kishor Kumar is the cinematographer, and GV Prakash Kumar is the music director for the movie while Karthika Srinivas R is the editor.

Norah Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary are roped in to play opposite Varun Tej in the film that will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.
