Moreover, Varma promoted the film grandly and several celebs attended pre-release event. Let’s see whether Vangaveeti has potential content or not…
Story:
Vangaveeti Radha (Sandeep) becomes a top rowdy in Vijayawada after killing his mentor Chalasani Venkata Ratnam. Devineni brothers- Gandhi and Nehru join hands with Radha to rule college politics. Communist leaders who are waiting for the right time kill Radha. Mohana Ranga (Sandeep) takes the leadership after his brother Radha’s death and becomes much bigger leader in Vijayawada.
Gradually enmity develops between Vangaveeti and Devineni families over headship which led to killings. The movie ends with unanimous persons killing Ranga.

5. Story Is Far Away From Reality
Analysis:
Artists Performances:
Sandeep Kumar has played both the roles of Vangaveeti Radha and Mohana Ranga with perfection. Though he doesn’t have much experience, the young actor rightly imitated mannerisms, body language, diction and style of Mohana Ranga. He was exceptional in key sequences. Shritej who played the role of Devineni Nehru did a marvelous job. This man too followed the mannerisms and body language of Nehru thoroughly. Vamsi and Kautilya also performed well as Devineni Gandhi and Murali respectively. Naina Gangulay was okay as Vangaveeti Ratnakumari.
Technical Aspect:
Ram Gopal Varma said that, he did extensive research by meeting several persons in Vijayawada before making this film. Movie buffs thought, he would show the family feud of Vangaveeti and Devineni families accurately. However, RGV disappoints completely. There is no hero and no villain in the film.
Simply saying, the film is series of murders in RGV’s voice over. There were no sensitive emotions between characters and no single person was elevated significantly. Apparently, RGV didn’t wish his film to face any controversy from both the families, since there is nothing like any of the families to raise objection over content.
Though RGV showed several groups waiting for the opportunity, he didn’t conclude who actually killed Vangaveeti Ranga. Rather presenting the key portions of Ranga and Radha murders, RGV focused more on the assassination of Devineni Murali. The film ends abruptly with some anonymous persons killing Ranga.
Cinematography handled by Rahul, Dilip and Surya was outstanding. RGV mark making was visible in most of the frames. Ravi Shankar’s music was middling. RGV’s voice over and songs were biggest drawback. Production values were pretty weak.
Verdict:
It’s another half-baked film from RGV. It’s a fictional film for those who don’t know the story and people who know the story finds many faults. Overall, Vangaveeti isn’t a worth watching film in theaters.
