Updated : Jun 8, 2026

The teaser of Slumdog 33 Temple Street offers a clearer look at the world that Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Sethupathi are building together. Positioned as a Pan-India film, the project had already drawn attention for its unusual title, casting choices and setting. The teaser now shifts the focus toward tone and character.

Vijay Sethupathi appears in the role of a visually challenged beggar who seems deeply connected to a larger community of homeless and marginalised people. Rather than presenting him as a conventional underdog, the teaser hints at a character carrying influence, conflict and a larger purpose within that world.

Across its runtime, the teaser suggests themes of survival, power and revenge without revealing too much of the central plot. Tabu, Duniya Vijay and Samyuktha appear briefly but their presence indicates that the narrative may rely on strong interpersonal conflict.

One noticeable aspect is Puri Jagannadh’s treatment. While retaining his familiar intensity, the visuals appear more restrained and textured than his recent work. Harshavardhan Rameshwar’s background score adds mood and scale, while the teaser largely focuses on establishing atmosphere rather than delivering conventional mass moments.
