There is accuracy in overseas collections because of cross-platform measurement company comScore, formerly Rentrak, tracks collections of every show of every film in most of the centers. Reentrak forays India for film box office measurement, which means there will be no more faking in collections.

Due to many reasons, maybe to satisfy fans or to combat anti fans, production houses sometime proclaim fake box office collections. With Rentrak expanding its services to India, it’s almost an end to fake collections.

Rentrak has partnered with PVR Cinemas, a premium movie exhibition company in India. Under the agreement, PVR Cinemas will utilise Rentrak’s Box Office Essentials service and provide them with daily box office results for its cinema circuit, which includes 562 screens in 48 Indian cities. Rentrak has plans to tie up with other Cinemas in India soon.
